Party Recap: Jersey City, NJ, May 3+4, 2024

The May parties were a big success! About 15 people attended Friday (May 3) and about 20 people attended the Saturday (May 4) party. Everyone had a great time!

The Setup

I’ll be brief because we used the same hotel as last time and the room was exactly the same: A medium-sized living room with 4 screens and a circle of chairs/couches, plus a bedroom with 1 screen which was more chill and private.

We tried 1 new thing: We had numbered bags for people to store their clothes. Most people brought some kind of knapsack and didn’t need the bag. For those that did need a bag, they were numbered and I wrote the number on the person’s wristband so they can find the right bag later. In hindsight, I don’t think this experiment was super successful. Maybe there will be a bigger need in different weather. We’ll see!

Welcome to the party! When you first arrive you’re given a choice of wristbands. The colors tell people how you want to be approached: red (don’t approach), yellow (ask), and green (I’m here to play!).

The Timeline
