Recap of the Saturday, June 4, 2022 party in Jersey City, New Jersey. Our 16th party!

Summary

Considering this was announced only 7 days before the actual date, the turn-out was excellent. 16 guys attended. The most in the room at any time was 9 guys (at 8:30pm).

There was a ton of porn, a ton of playing, and I think a general good time was had by all. I give it a B+ or A- compared to other parties.

The new location required extra setup. I’d like to find a hotel with better parking, but it is difficult to find something near public transportation.

Background

For reasons I’ll explain in a future blog post, I’ve decided that future parties will be in the northern NJ area. This is my first Jersey City party.

There are many things I look for in a hotel: Safe neighborhood, An elevator that doesn’t require a cardkey, easy access to public transportation from NYC, good parking for those that drive, and of course cost is always a concern. I do a lot of research and, to be honest, it isn’t easy to find a hotel that meets all the criteria.

Anyway…

This is the first time at this particular hotel and it was “ok”. I’d give it a B+. The hotel was very clean and modern. The room layout wasn’t perfect but it worked out. The parking was was confusing, but hopefully that will improve then their repairs are complete.

Originally the party was going to be a couple weeks earlier (May 21, 2022). I had spent a LOT of time promoting it and received 44 RSVPs (Note: When 44 people RSVP it is likely that 20 people will show up). Then I came down with COVID-19 and had to postpone.

The new date was June 4. I required everyone to re-RSVP. I didn’t put a lot of effort into promoting the party because life got busy.

41 people RSVPed for the new date. Not too bad! 12 of them had RSVPed for the original date, 31 had not RSVPed before. I’m not sure what that means. Did the 31 people not RSVP to the original date because they were busy that day, or did they just hear about the party and sign up? I’ll never know.

The Setup

The room was a long rectangle. The door was at one end that opened up to a living-room area with a couch and coffee table. I called this “the chill space” and some people hung out there to chill out before entering the main area.

There was a curtain that split off the other half the room. This half had 2 beds, a chair, and a big video screen. After setting up my equipment there were 4 screens (1 big, 2 medium, and 1 small). The timeline
